Maura is DeSmog’s Grants and Development Manager, having joined the team in August 2021. Her role involves working with partners and coordinating funding for programme implementation, with oversight of the organisation’s strategic development. Previously, she worked for the freedom of expression organisation PEN International, and in the Secretariat of the European Medicines Agency, within the Veterinary Pharmacovigilance and Drug Regulatory division.

Born in Barcelona, Maura studied at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Art History in 2004, and two additional Postgraduate Degrees in Ancient History and Art Valuation in 2005.
