EU Elections: Food and Farming Misinformation and the Far-Right

About the Series

Across Europe, coordinated misinformation campaigns are threatening climate action. Politicians and influencers alike are deploying false narratives, from claims that green policies will “kill” agriculture, to conspiracy theories about replacing meat with bugs.

With the EU elections on the horizon (6-9 June), the far-right is weaponising these narratives to ramp up support – and is set to make huge gains.

In the run-up to the ballot, DeSmog will shine a light on actors like these who are spreading misleading claims and weaponising false narratives for electoral gain.
