Background

Gerald (Gerry) Eugene O’Shaughnessy co-founded Latin American oil and gas company Geopark Holding Limited in 2002.

O’Shaughnessy began his fossil fuel industry career in 1976 as senior vice president and general counsel at Lario Oil and Gas, which his grandfather Ignatius Aloysius (I.A.) O’Shaughnessy founded in 1927. Many members of the O’Shaughnessy family have held positions in the firm: Mike O’Shaughnessy is the company’s CEO and president, and the late Tim O’Shaughnessy worked as vice president of Lario Logistics.3“Executive Profile: Gerald Eugene O’Shaughnessy,” Bloomberg.
