Building โEmotional Affinityโ Between Consumers and BP
According to John Seifert, the Ogilvy chairman of global brand community, WPPโs research firm BrandZ had conducted a study about how the public chooses which gas product to buy ahead of the Beyond Petroleum campaign.8Solman, G. โBP: Coloring Public Opinion?โ Ad Week, January 14, 2008. Concerns Over “Beyond Petroleum” Slogan
Environmentalists attacked BP for expressing interest in drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge while the Beyond Petroleum ad campaign rolled out in the fall of 2000.10Darcy Frey. โHow Green is BP?โ The New York Times, December 8th, 2002. Carbon Footprint
