Addicted to Oil: G.W. Bush Conquers Step 1

There are skeptics galore dismissing U.S. President George W. Bushโ€™s admission this week that America has a problem. They look at the Texas oilmanโ€™s history and doubt that he is sincere in saying that the U.S. should conserve fossil fuels or seriously explore (climate friendly) energy alternatives.

Others are pointing out that, like all additions, this one will be hard to break (see attachment).

No matter, the first stage in conquering a problem is admitting it. There is room to be unreservedly pleased that President Bush has spoken the words, even if weโ€™re not holding our breath in anticipation that the deeds will follow quickly.
