There are skeptics galore dismissing U.S. President George W. Bush’s admission this week that America has a problem. They look at the Texas oilman’s history and doubt that he is sincere in saying that the U.S. should conserve fossil fuels or seriously explore (climate friendly) energyย alternatives.
Others are pointing out that, like all additions, this one will be hard to break (seeย attachment).
No matter, the first stage in conquering a problem is admitting it. There is room to be unreservedly pleased that President Bush has spoken the words, even if we’re not holding our breath in anticipation that the deeds will followย quickly.
