In June 2005 the National Academies of Science for all G8 Nations, along with China, India and Brazil, signed a joint-statement stating that there is strong evidence that global warming is happening and that most of it can be attributed to human activities. This was signed by the top government scientific advisors in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, France, Germany, and Russia.
In 2004, 48 Nobel Prize Winners in science signed a letter to US President George Bush, stating that: โBy ignoring scientific consensus on critical issues, such as global climate change, the US government is threatening the earthโs future.โ
