ACCCE Coal Carolers scrubbed, scrapped and gone forever (I hope)

The other day I wrote a post titled, โ€œGive the gift of Asthma and a Warmer Planet this Christmasโ€ on what might have to be the most blatant pro-coal marketing bafflegab in the history of the Unitedย States.

The campaign was run by the coal-industry front group the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricty (ACCCE) and it featured little lumps of coal that sang distateful pro-coal renditions of classic Christmas carols, likeย this:

As I wrote at the time, โ€œโ€ฆ this latest publicity stunt is absolutely absurd and shows just how far the coal lobby is willing to go to market their dirty product as somehow beingย clean.

A lot of other bloggers felt the sameย way:

Coalโ€™s Sacriligeousย Caroling

Clean Coal Carolers from an Industry Run Byย Morons

Clean Coal Carolers? Christmas gone allย wrong

Clean Coal forย Christmas

โ€œCleanโ€ Coal front groups hucks โ€œfrosty the coal manโ€ and other brazen assaults on christmasย spirit

You wonโ€™t believe your ears: Frosty the Coalman, Clean Coal Night, Deck the Halls with Cleanย Coal

Well it looks like someone at ACCCE finally gave their head a shake and realized just how stupid their Clean Coal Carolers campaign actually was because the whole thing has been vaporized from the ACCCEย website.

Same for their Coal Carolers Facebookย group.

Suddenly I feel a lot moreย Christmassy!
